Digital Outdoor Seminar: A New Space for Advertisers

The seminar featured a range of speakers from several key sectors. Here is a brief summary of the topics covered:

 

Steve Parker, Managing Director of Starcom MediaVest provided an overview of digital outdoor in the context of changing consumer habits. He talked of this growing medium in terms of a convergence of digital media and how digital out of home is more important than ever in a culture where consumers are spending more time away from work or home.

 

Jon Forsyth, a founding partner of the hottest new media agency in town, Adam and Eve; gave an insight into the positioning of Westfield London. This new retail and leisure environment houses 265 retail outlets is the biggest develop in London for many years.

 

Oliver Eastman and Justin Gibbons presented the new digital outdoor research from CBS Outdoor. Oliver focussed on human behaviour in the context of how environmental and physiological factors affect information processing and Justin presented the research which talks of the implications the research has for advertisers.

 

Charlie Edelman, Marketing Director for Evening Standard provided a insight into ES’s marketing strategy and how digital outdoor complements their positioning as a ‘up to the minute’ publication.

 

Mark Fallows, Digital Director for McCann Erickson EMEA offered a creatives’ perspective in terms of how digital outdoor has become more of a focus in recent years and the implications of this new research.
