The 60 second film, aired last night for the first time on ITV, was created by VCCP.

The movie has been supposedly written by Orlov, the comparethemeerkat.com founder, who uses his new advert to explain the hard life his ancestors faced.

Filmed at Pinewood Studios and on location, the ad is a change from previous work as it features Orlov outside of his Russian mansion for the first time. Orlov and Sergei are shown as they travel out of Africa on a voyage that takes them across the world to the wastelands of Russia.

Since launching the successful meerkat campaign in January 2009, Orlov now gained over 600,000 fans on Facebook and 31,000 twitter followers. Comparethemarket.com has also seen a 100% uplift in visits to its website as a result.
